I don’t remember where I first saw it, but someone had a slide show made by Pummelvision. They just take a bunch of your photos and make a fast slide show in a few minutes. Instead of trying to make a slide show with all the photography from this last year, like the weddings, family, and commercial photos; I decided to just use the local underwater photography. It was kind of a fun thing to see.
DREWERY FAMILY : HAWAII FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY – LAIE HI
It was fun photographing the Drewery family again while they were back here on vacation. I shot maternity pictures of Michelle when they were last here. It is hard to tell from these pictures but she is expecting again. At the end of our shoot Michelle jumped in the water for a few underwater portraits. She looks so graceful and I love the dress she chose to wear.
The Laie Hawaii Temple is having an open house before it is rededicated. It is not often that general public can go inside a LDS Temple, so this is a great opportunity to check it out if your are going to be in Hawaii. The open house starts on October 22 and runes through November 13th. To learn more about the Laie Temple open house click here. From October 22 through November 21 I will be running a special on my Family photo sessions. I will be announcing the details later next week.
PINEAPPLE LUV : FEATURED FOR SURF/UNDERWATER MATERNITY

ANGELA & DOMI : HAWAII MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHY, NORTH SHORE OF OHAU
While photographing a wedding in northern California last fall I meet Angela and Domi. They are also wedding photographers and work between Hawaii and Canada. You’ve got to check out their photo booth at www.photoboothhawaii.com, I wish I had one of these at my wedding. Well I had a lot of fun taking their maternity pictures, and I was so excited when they wanted to go in the water. We stopped at a few different beaches on the north shore of Oahu and even ended up getting in the surf at Waimea bay.
CODY : KAILUA HAWAII NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY
This is my 3rd time photographing Heather and Drew’s family. First was their wedding, the second was the amazing underwater maternity pictures, and just recently they call me a few days after the birth of their newborn son Cody. I get to meet some really cool people being a photographer, and I think Cody is one of them. Congratulations Heather and Drew, and thanks for having me in your home to photograph Cody’s newborn pictures.
KATIE & BRENT : HAWAII UNDERWATER MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHY, NORTH SHORE OAHU
It has been a little busy this last year and I have only had time to post about half of my shoots. My next two post are of the underwater maternity and new born shoot with the Speed family on the North Shore. I had a lot of fun photographing Katie in the water, she showed up with this really cool 50’s style swim suit. I love the way the pink pops out in the teal water. Keep a look out Friday I will be posting baby Eliza’s new born pictures.
HEATHER, DREW, & WYATT : HAWAII MATERNITY / FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY
Some of you may remember when I photographed Heather and Drew’s wedding last year on the North Shore. Here are a few pictures from our recent maternity / family shoot last month. It is fun as a photographer to watch as families grow. I am excited to do their newborn pictures in about 5 weeks. The underwater maternity photographs were taken at Sharks Cove and we shot the other family pictures at Keiki Beach. I really have fun shooting in the ocean, and love using water and light to create some cool images.
JACKIE KONTOES : NORTH SHORE HAWAII MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHY
This last year I have been working on a project to create maternity and newborn phtography that is very nontraditional. Jackie’s photoshoot pulled this style off. In these pictures she is carrying twins. Jackie does everything with unique style. Our first stop was a small surf town on the North Shore of Oahu, Haleiwa. We stoped at Matsimotos Shave Ice and I was joking around and said “Why don’t you ask them if you can make your own shaved ice?” She walked right over to the counter with her beautiful smile and the rest of the story is in the pictures below. The next stop was Waimea Bay. As soon as we walked to the far side of the bay with all our gear, the river mouth opened, and 10 minutes later it was too murky to shoot. So we packed up and headed to Sunset Beach where it was a bit more windy. Jackie was a real trooper to get into that cold water, and a big shout out to her husband Chris for helping with all the dive gear. This is an adventurous couple and we took advantage of that to snap some fun shots.
This first picture reminds me of an Anne Taintor Magnet.
MEGAN NA’IHE : HAWAII NEW BORN PHOTOGRAPHY
One of my favorite families to photograph- I wanted to post a few photograph’s of Megan Naihe and their newest addition. Our families have known each other from previous years living in California and somehow here we are living on Oahu. Megan and Keli’i are living the life in Hau’ula with their three little ones. There is something very timeless about black and white candid’s and snapshots taken on a front porch.
BRIGHTON LOVERIDGE : NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY LAIE HAWAII
Congratulations Jonna and Dan! One of the best parts about being a photographer is that I am mostly working with people who are in a happy time in their lives whether it is getting married or having a baby. Jonna and Dan have a blog that says:
“We are a small family who live on a small island, in a small town, in a small house…. this is our blog mainly about our small child… “
This is just one family that I have recently phtotographed who is living their dreams and making it in Hawaii. Check out their happy little blog here.
Check out all the pictures from their shoot here.
