Had an amazing weekend at the Rell Sunn Menehune contest in Makaha. Both of my kids surfed with me this year, have to thank JJ for getting some shots of us. Also have to thank everyone in Halau Nalu for making this such a fun event for our kids. Congratulations to all our keiki who entered and competed this year!
LAIE HAWAII TEMPLE DEDICATION
This last week has been very special for the LDS community in Hawaii. We were visited by a Prophet of God, Thomas S. Monson, for the rededication of the Laie Hawaii Temple. Before it was rededicated (it was first dedicated in 1919), over 45,000 people toured the temple in the few weeks it was open to the public.
I was asked by the Temple Historical Committee to document the cultural celebration event which happened the night before the dedication. With the press pass I was able to get up close to the Prophet. The cultural celebration was put on by hundreds of youth from all over Hawaii. It was an amazing performance. I have to say that I believe Hawaii has the most beautiful and talented youth in the world! (The youth leaders are amazing as well). Hailing from nations all over the Pacific and Hawaii, the singing and dancing and storytelling and spirit were incredible.
The picture of the Temple was taken today during the dedication.
KIM & BART : LOULU PALM ESTATES WEDDING – NORTH SHORE HAWAII
Check out the beauty that is Kim and Bart’s beach wedding. They were marred at Loulu Palm Estates, a very nice venue on the North Shore of Oahu. What an amazing location to have a sunset wedding. Kim carefully put together the color scheme and designed the tent embellishments with the great wedding planner, Milestone Events Hawaii. The flowers were by Flower Farm. they did a great job with the arch and bouquet. The decor was well chosen with white leather couches, glass beading, and other stylish touches. I love the glow and joy that totally radiates off of this couple in the pictures.
JUST ANOTHER DAY IN THE OFFICE
It was a beautiful day on the North Shore today. The picture above is of the Vans triple Crown of Surfing contest in Haleiwa Hawaii. This is the world championship of surfing. I was on my way to an engagement session and the mountains looked amazing and I had to just pull over and snap a shot. The picture below is of the fun couple that I was photographing. I had a great time with this couple, can’t wait to post their shoot in a week or so.
TARP SURFING : KAAAWA HAWAII
Went tarp surfing for the first time today. It is a lot more like the real thing than I thought it would be, just look at Kelleys face as she is pulling out of that fat barrel. Devin Graham put this together for a video he is producing. You should check out his You tube page here, he’s amazing. The video in this clip was taken with my GoPro Hero attached to a wood board I through some wheels on. The first thing Patria said with she saw this was “your just a big kid”, it was fun though.
ORGILL : HAWAII FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY – NORTH SHORE OAHU HAWAII

MEGHAN & MIKE : SUNSET BEACH WEDDING – NORTH SHORE OAHU HAWAII
This was an incredible backyard wedding at Sunset Beach on the North Shore of Hawaii. Besides the stunning style of the couple and her awesome dress, I could really see a ton of happiness in this group- I think you’ll see that in the pictures, everyone had huge smiles and all of that joy and energy made choosing which pictures to post challenging. Meghan and Mike had about 50 people come from the mainland to Hawaii for their destination wedding. Congratulations Meghan and Mike, and thank you for having me photograph your wedding, it was an honor.
MEGHAN & MIKE : PRE WEDDING SURF PHOTOGRAPHY – NORTH SHORE OAHU HAWAII
Meghan and Mike came from California for a destination wedding in Hawaii. A few days before their wedding we set out for a pre wedding surf session on the north shore. I had a lot of fun photographing Meghan and Mike in the water, they are both talented surfers. Check back in a day or so to see photos from their wedding, it was an amazing wedding to photograph.
REGAN & CRAIG : TURTLE BAY WEDDING – NORTH SHORE OAHU HAWAII
Regan and Craig flew their familys out all the way from Australia for their Hawaii wedding. I shoot a lot of weddings at Turtle bay on the North Shore, but this is the first time the ceremony was on the beach by the stables. It was nice a quaint, and perfect for a wedding on the beach. I had a great time photographing Regan Craig and their families, Aussies really know how to have a good time.
URIELLE & FRANCOIS : HONEYMOON PICTURES, NORTH SHORE OAHU HAWAII
Urielle & Francois are from Lyon France, and came to hawaii for their honeymoon. I didn’t know this but in france couples do not get engagement pictures. Urielle wanted to get some engagement type photos of her and Francois, so I took them to the North Shore and it was a beautiful day. I love the color of dress that Urielle chose to were, it just pops out against the blue sky and water.
