Here are a few pictures from Te-Manahua, Maori Festival at the Polynesian Cultural Center this last weekend. I have been photographing special events and some marketing for the Polynesian Cultural Center for a little over a year now, and this has got to be one of the best contests I have ever seen. There were performers from all over including New Zealand and London, England. The winners were a local group and I got chills as they performed. I don’t know if it was because they were doing the Haka 4 feet away, or the fact that I was looking though my canon 70-200 telephoto lens right into their eyes. Whatever it was, it was amazing and they received a standing ovation.
BEYOND THE VEIL : HAWAII WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY, ROYAL HAWAIIAN HOTEL WAIKIKI
Just a few pictures from my shoot with Beyond the Veil. Summer designs some amazing veils and headdresses. She is also starting to design wedding dresses. If I was planing a Hawaii wedding or anywhere , I would check out Beyond the Veil. More photos of this shoot coming later when I have time.
LAIE INN : LAIE HAWAII DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY
This is what’s left of one of Laie’s landmarks. I was on my way home from a photo shoot and decided to jump out and snap a shot as this little inn came down. When I set up my tripod to take some shots, I was surprised when my van was surrounded by 4 cop cars. I asked what was going on and they said they had received a call that a guy was loading a gun in his van across from Laie Inn. Either someone mistook my camera for an assault weapon, or someone didn’t want me taking the photos, or someone was playing a practical joke. I don’t know, but it made for an adventurous photo op.
