Tanya and Adam were married at Sunset Ranch overlooking the North Shore of Oahu Hawaii. This is a stunning place to host a large wedding. The view of the sun setting was incredible, and the food and decorations were excellent. I photographed Tanya and Adam’s engagement pictures a few months back, they even did a few underwater shots, you can see those here. Congratulations to this beautiful couple- Tanya and Adam!
CARRIE + BEN : LAIE TEMPLE WEDDING – NORTH SHORE HAWAII
Prior to their wedding Carrie and Ben jumped right in as we did a trash the dress session on the north shore at Turtle Bay. As a surfer Ben was very comfortable, and Carrie was quite brave to go out into the surf as big as it was. There are a few behind the scenes photos below where you can see wave size. They were married a few day later at the Laie, Hawaii Temple, the same temple that Carrie’s parents were married in. Their receptions was at a beach house on Laie Bay, one of my favorite places in the world. They had so many fun things at their reception: cotton candy, a Ted’s Bakery cake and even fire knife dancing from Carrie’s dads college roommate, Kap Te’o Tafiti.
ROCHELLE + IVAN : WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY – NORTH SHORE HAWAII
Rochelle and Ivan came all the way from Alaska to have their destination wedding in Hawaii. The day turned out to be amazing even though we had a little rain that day on the North Shore. I really enjoyed photographing Rochelle and Ivan, they had a lot of fun energy, especially when we went to trash the dress.
I have to also give a shout out to Jennifer Jones, she was Rochelle’s makeup artists and did an amazing job.
GENEVA + AJ : NORTH SHORE HAWAII WEDDING
I normally don’t post weddings this quickly after the date, but Geneva is being deployed this weekend. Just as it is clear in this photo, Geneva and Aj definitely “live for today”. They had a beautiful wedding ceremony at Ke Iki beach, and afterwards they jumped into the oh so inviting ocean. It was one of those days when everything came together, the sea was calm, beach uncrowded, and the sunset was amazing.
MICHAEL + KUMIKO : HONOLULU WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Kumiko and Michael flew all the way from Japan for a Hawaii destination wedding here in Honolulu. It was fun to see the two families come together. Kumiko’s family spoke a little English and Michael’s family spoke a little Japanese. The ceremony location was beautiful with Diamond Head in the background. Congratulations Kumiko and Michael.
LINDSAY & BRANDON : HAWAII DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER – KAUAI
One of my favorite islands in Hawaii is Kauai, so I was super excited when Lindsay asked me to be their wedding photographer for their destination wedding on Kauai. Lindsay and Brandon had a fun group of friends fly in from Alaska. One of them even bought a van for the week while they were here, see it below. Even though we had a little rain, the wedding turned out beautifully, and we were blessed with an amazing rainbow just in time for the ceremony.
LINDSEY + JAY : HAWAII BEACH WEDDING
Lindsay and Jay had a beautiful destination Hawaii beach wedding on the North Shore of Oahu. After the ceremony we captured some shots of them together on the beach as the sun went down, and then headed to the Turtle Bay Restaurant, Ola‘s for a dinner reception where they did a traditional tea ceremony. What a fantastic night this was for a wedding. The couple, their family and friends, the setting, it was all stunning.
REBECCA + TYLER : ELOPING TO HAWAII
UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY FROM THE LAST YEAR
I don’t remember where I first saw it, but someone had a slide show made by Pummelvision. They just take a bunch of your photos and make a fast slide show in a few minutes. Instead of trying to make a slide show with all the photography from this last year, like the weddings, family, and commercial photos; I decided to just use the local underwater photography. It was kind of a fun thing to see.
MALIA & BRAD : WEDDING SURF PHOTOGRAPHY – TURTLE BAY HAWAII
This wedding brought two passions together, surfing and photography. I was of course excited when Malia contacted me and said she wanted to go surfing in her wedding dress. I have done a lot of trash the dress photography, but this was the first actual wedding where the bride and groom and the whole wedding party jumped in the water. Malia and Brad’s wedding was at Turtle Bay on the North Shore of Oahu Hawaii. This was the perfect wedding venue to have the wedding ceremony and then jump in the water. On top of the surf, they had a really amazing color scheme. Congratulations Malia and Brad, you guys ripped it up.
DANA & JAKE : NORTH SHORE HAWAII “TRASH THE DRESS SESSION”
Being a wedding photographer here in Hawaii I deal with a lot of different variables, especially when it comes to getting in the water for a trash the dress session. Being on an island we are often at the mercy of the wind, sun, waves, and all different elements. Dana and Jake’s “Trash the Dress session” almost didn’t happen. Jake sliced his foot open before their wedding and almost didn’t make it to the ceremony after spending most of the morning in the ER. The doctor told Jake to stay out of the water. A friend let us borrow the big blue boot to keep Jake’s foot dry, as seen below. Busted up foot or not Dana and Jake did a great job hiking over the coral on the North Shore, and getting in the water. The waves were a little big that day but we were able to find a safe location to get into the water. My two favorite pictures of this shoot are the 4th photo were Dana is running, and the last one. I think she looks so peaceful as she is gliding through the water.
KATIE & MIKE : MAUI WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY – TWIN FALLS MAUI
Katie and Mike flew into Maui after their wedding in Atlanta, Georgia. I met them in Maui for a trash the dress session at Twin Falls. They were both very adventurous, especially Katie to hike in with her wedding dress. The water fall was flowing pretty good since we had a week of rain prior. Last time I was here I was working on the Arbonne catalog, and couldn’t help to think what a cool place it would be to photograph a bride. So I was very excited when Katie and Mike called me up to photograph their post wedding pictures. Congratulations guys- it was a lot of fun spending this time with you!
