Alexandra and Slava Flew in from San Francisco and were married in Waikiki. Alexandra asked if we could do a trash the dress session the day after their wedding. So here are a few shots from our morning together on the North Shore of Oahu. They did a great job, especially since this Alexandra’s first time going underwater in the ocean.
INFINITE SOUL : HAWAII COMMERCIAL SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHY
A few months back I shot some commercial photos for Infinite Soul. The owner Branch Nautu is amazing. About two weeks ago I started working out with him, and he is really kicking my trash into shape. If you are in sports and looking to better your game, or just trying to get into shape, Branch is the man. He customizes your workout which makes sense since an exercise regimen or class cannot be one size fits all. He evaluates the whole picture- nutrition, mind, body. You can find more info about him and his philosophy at www.myinfinitesoule.com.

KRISTIN & LEE : NORTH SHORE HAWAII, UNDERWATER PORTRAIT
Had a great time photographing Kristin and Lee. Visiting from Texas, they got a quick photo shoot in before they left on their Hawaiian cruise. It was fun taking the underwater pictures, I think they both look very natural. I really like Kristin’s swimsuit, it had a vintage look to it so I decided to give a few of the pictures a vintage feel. enjoy.

FAN & SU : WAIKIKI HAWAII WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Photographing Fan and Su was a new experience for me. They contacted me from Taiwan where they got married, but wanted to get some amazing Hawaii wedding pictures while they were staying in Waikiki. Neither of them spoke much English and I only know about two words of Mandarin. Surprisingly with very few words we were able to get some beautiful shots on the beaches of Waikiki, and I think we both had a great time. 谢谢
THE ELDERS – A COMING OF AGE DOCUMENTARY PORTRAIT SERIES
My good friend and talented documentary film maker, Nathaniel Hansen, has a start up project that he is promoting on Kick Starter – independent film makers can show their project and raise the funds they need to produce the film. There are just a few days left for his project called The Elders. The film will “examine what it really means to live, by coming of age.” You can learn more and donate by following this link: the elders
By the way in which a society behaves toward its old people it uncovers the naked, and often carefully hidden, truth about its real principles and aims.

THE WASHINGTON POST : WORLD FIREKNIFE PHOTOGRAPHY
Just found out that The Washington Post published one of the photos I shot last night at the World Fireknife Championship held at the Polynesian Cultural Center. This is the image they used, you can see their online post here.
WORLD FIREKNIFE CHAMPIONSHIPS : POLYNESIAN CULTURAL CENTER, LAIE HAWAII
I am shooting the World Fireknife Championship this weekend at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie. Here are a few of my favorite shots from last nights senior, junior and group competitors. One of the kids from the junior division, this is ages 6-11, learned how to fireknife from youtube. You can see Preston Weber’s performance from last night in the video below. And yes that is me in the lower right hand corner, I finally made it on youtube.
