PAUL + CAITI : HAWAII ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS – NORTH SHORE OAHU

I love working with other artist, Paul is a musician and a wood worker and Caiti works in the fashion industry.  Both very talented in and out of the water.  You can see some of Paul’s wood working skills at fullerbanjo.com.  Knew this was going to be a super fun engagement shoot when Paul and Caiti  pulled out their Da Fins.  It was one of those perfect days, we had lots of sun and the sea was happy.  Look forward to photographing their wedding at Laulu Palm on the North Shore of Oahu in October. Hawaii Save the dateHawaii Save the date Hawaii Save the date Hawaii Save the dateHawaii Save the dateHawaii Save the dateHawaii Save the dateHawaii underwater photography Hawaii underwater photography Hawaii underwater photography Hawaii underwater photography Hawaii underwater photography underwater photography Hawaii underwater photography Hawaii underwater photography Hawaii underwater photography Hawaii Surf Photography Hawaii underwater photography

NORTH SHORE HAWAII FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY

What a fun shoot!  This was a family of 15, his, hers, theirs, spouses and girlfriends.  This was their last day of vacation here in Hawaii.  With a group this large I decided to take them to a little hidden beach on the North Shore that would give us a lot of different backdrops.  After shooting the family portraits they asked if we could do some underwater pictures.  This was totally not planned, no one even had swimsuits or towels.  Of coarse I said yes, I will take any excuse  to get in the water.  At first a few of the family members were a little hesitant,  but once we started getting in the water it was just all fun.

QUIKSILVER IN MEMORY OF EDDIE AIKAU WAS A NO GO : WAIMEA BAY, NORTH SHORE HAWAII

As most of you know the Quicksilver in Memory of Eddie Aikau big wave contest at Waimea Bay  did not go today. There was the size, just not consistent.  Contest or not there was still some amazing surfing.  I had a shoot on the North Shore this morning, thought I would head over after and get a few shots.  As I was standing on the bluff, I couldn’t help think to myself, how could I get on one of those skis to shoot from the water.  That is the angle I would like to be shooting from.  Maybe next year.

URIELLE & FRANCOIS : HONEYMOON PICTURES, NORTH SHORE OAHU HAWAII

Urielle & Francois are from Lyon France, and came to hawaii for their honeymoon.  I didn’t know this but in france couples do not get engagement pictures. Urielle wanted to get some engagement type photos of her and Francois, so I took them to the North Shore and it was a beautiful day.  I love the color of dress that Urielle chose to were, it just pops out against the blue sky and water.

DESTINATION WEDDING KONA HAWAII : SILVIA & MATT

Kona-Sunset-wedding-photography-

I had a great time photographing Silvia & Matt’s destination wedding at the Royal Kona Resort, located on the ocean in Kona Hawaii.  Silvia’s family came all the way from Germany, it was so fun the have the European vibe there and they had so much style.  You can just tell from the wedding dress Silvia chose.  This is the first time photographing a wedding at the Royal Kona Resort.  Its a great location for a wedding in Kona and the sunset was amazing.

FULMERS : HAWAII FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY – NORTH SHORE OAHU

After being married 7 years Dave surprised his wife on their anniversary with a fun morning at the beach on the North Shore, and a family photo shoot that evening.  I had a great time documenting their kayaking and cruising on the stand up paddle board (SUP).   I posted one of the pictures a few weeks back here.  I met them back on the North Shore later that evening for family pictures on the beach.   The light was perfect and we scored a beautiful Hawaii sunset.

DREWERY FAMILY : HAWAII FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY – LAIE HI

Laie Underwater family photographer

It was fun photographing the Drewery family again while they were back here on vacation.  I shot maternity pictures of Michelle when they were last here.  It is hard to tell from these pictures but she is expecting again. At the end of our shoot Michelle jumped in the water for a few underwater portraits.  She looks so graceful and I love the dress she chose to wear.

The Laie Hawaii Temple is having an open house before it is rededicated. It is not often that general public can go inside a LDS Temple, so this is a great opportunity to check it out if your are going to be in Hawaii.  The open house starts on October 22 and runes through November 13th.  To learn more about the Laie Temple open house click here. From October 22 through November 21 I will be running a special on my Family photo sessions.  I will be announcing the details later next week.

SUNSET BEACH FAMLIY PHOTOGRAPHY / UNDERWATER PORTRAITS – NORTH SHORE HAWAII

I think this is my favorite picture of the session,  likely because I would love to have a photograph of me and my grandfather like this.

A few weeks ago I shot this beautiful family on their vacation at Sunset beach here in Hawaii.  When I got to their vacation rental I noticed that they had a pool.  This is the first time I have ever shot in a pool.  I have to say it was a bit easier than shooting in the ocean where we have to work with waves, rip tides, sea life, surfers and other things.
