JOSH & SHARLIE : HAWAII WEDDING OAHU

This was the last wedding that I photographed at the Laie Temple before it closed for a year to be renovated. The night before their wedding there was an island wide power outage and it was rainy. Umbrella’s seem to add a fun touch to wedding pictures though. Sharlie and Josh had a beautiful wedding and it was great fun working with them. Congratulations!

TAYLOR’S BRIDAL : KOOLAU WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY HAWAII

Photographing Taylor’s bridals was amazing.  A few days before Taylor’s wedding, her family’s home in Laie Hawaii was flooded, displacing the family and guests they were hosting.  On the night of the reception, the power went off in Laie, about 20 minutes into the reception.  They pulled it off gracefully as you can see in the pictures below shot at Koolau Ranch.

TAYLOR : BRIDAL PHOTOGRAPHY, LAIE OHAU HAWAII

This month has been off the charts busy so I haven’t had much time to blog.  It has been a fun month, photographing so many families and weddings.  One family shoot yesterday took place just a few houses down from where Barack Obama was staying in Kailua.  Too bad I didn’t get to see him though.

I just shot Taylor’s bridal this evening and thought I would post one of the shots.  More to come later.

TANYA AND RODNEY : WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY – NORTH SHORE OAHU HAWAII

This fun loving couple from Utah, met in Hawaii and returned with their families to get married.  It was supposed to be a Waimea Valley wedding reception, but a landslide, several days before, changed their plans.  Instead they celebrated at Shark’s Cove Grill, against the wide backdrop of the ocean.  The surf was huge on the north shore, crashing over the coral of Shark’s Cove.  This location allowed for a lot of fun with the surf shops and boutiques.   Shark’s Cove is one of the most breathtaking locations to watch the sunset on the north shore.

BEYOND THE VEIL : HAWAII WEDDING VEILS

I have been working with Summer Kester, designer of high end wedding veils and owner of “Beyond the Veil.”  I am helping her with the photography for her website and catalog.  I will post the website once it is complete.  We had Patria model the final few veils.  I can’t wait for the business to launch because the veils are stunning and unique.

MAILE AND KENRIK : WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY – KAILUA HAWAII

Kailua, Hawaii has one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and it is an amazing place to get married.  Congratulations Maile and Kenrik!  This was one of the most fun weddings I’ve been to.  We started off at the home of one of Maile’s good friends, with stylist Marie Rangel.   After a few drinks and getting all dolled up, it was time to head to the Kailua beach for the ceremony.  It was a blustery day in Hawaii, but beautiful.

After the ceremony,  everyone met up at Maile’s grandma’s house for the reception.   This was truly a fun party, starting off with a band that played Hawaiian music.  Followed with a delicious Itallian bar, cooked on the spot.  After dinner, the reggae band showed up.  Maile and Kenrik cut the cake and had their first dance as newlyweds.

My daughter looked over my shoulder while I was posting these and this what she said about Maile: “Oooh daddy, she is beautiful.  I want her to come over to our house.”  My daughter is enamored with all the wedding pictures she sees around here.
